The Lost Isle of Kismet, Light Grey Art Lab, AD: Lindsay Nohl, 2018.

A young woman dressed in an ensemble of rich cloth and jewels. Her arms glow with mysterious tattoos, she presents you with a bell shaped object. It is made of an unknown metal which glows as if it has just come hot out of the furnace. There are 4 groups of 9 studs on the object, but yet there is no clapper, there is a type of writing embossed on the surface along with a depiction of a dragon with a pearl. She repeats the word "Zhong" and "Bianzhong" to you and points towards the mountain while drawing a circle in the dirt at your feet which she wipes out and draws again and again until you realize she is telling you to take the metallic object up to the mountain by the time of the full moon eclipse. Do you do as she asks? Or do you move on? Taking this object will add weight to an already heavy load you are carrying... but you are intrigued.

Card Illustration

Elemental Card Deck, 78 Tarot, AD: Kayti Welsh, 2019

For my two of cups design I depicted merpeople, a King and Queen of the Sea. Though there is a wave coming out behind them they are both calm and hold one another’s hand tightly, maybe because they created the wave themselves? In their other hand they each hold a goblet representing their power and authority within their watery kingdom. The goblets are held close to themselves, which may be a reflection on the negative aspect of the card (pairing off to the exclusion of others) the goblet is not offered out freely to others. They are adorned with the riches of the sea and are wearing coral crowns representing the domain of their kingdom. Each has his/her own thoughts but together they battle the elements maintaining harmony through unity which is represented in their crossed tails.
