Sometimes you just have to reassess where your picture is headed and if it’s going in the right direction. I found that the more I painted the first Shaman Priestess the worse it got. Not only was the paper suffering but the values were just not working. After sharing it with a friend (thanks Kat) and having a look at all the bad tangents my friend pointed out I realised I needed some good solid reference. Luckily my friend Nyra was able to help and we spent an hour taking photos (don’t ask me why I just didn’t do this in the first place). The photos were great and I was able to cobble together a composition that worked and conveyed mystery. I’m still not out of the woods but I think I’m now on the right track. All I have to do is keep my cool and finish this in 2 days… wish me luck! @lightgreyartgallery
