On January 10th, 2016, David Bowie left this earth due to succumbing to his battle with liver cancer. A few days later, Alan Rickman left us too, also due to cancer. Too many of our loved ones are taken by this monster every day, leaving each of us affected deeply.
I heard on NPR the other day that cancer research has us closer than ever to a cure that’s affordable and accessible, but researchers still need our help.
Upon creating my “Starman” David Bowie tribute painting in watercolor and gouache, I received many, many requests for a print to be made. I wasn’t planning to do it, because I was afraid that I’d appear as though I were taking advantage of his tragic departure. But now with Alan Rickman’s passing due to cancer as well, I want to do what I can to contribute to cancer research. ⚫️ Therefore, I’ve decided to do a 72-hour timed-release print of “Starman,” with 50% of all profits going to the Cancer Research Institute (http://ift.tt/12HkkUS). ⚫️ Available are two print options:
1. Signed and numbered 5" x 7" print of “Starman” for $15 plus shipping.
2. Signed, numbered, and hand-embellished 5" x 7" print of “Starman” for $35 plus shipping.
The edition number of each print option will be determined by the number sold at the end of the 72 hour period, ending Sunday, January 17th, at 2pm EST.
Prints will be shipped in two weeks or less from the time that the release ends. During that time, I will announce the total amount that will be donated to the CRI, thanks to your help!
